Graffiti arts have expanded in appeal as a result of the surge of European youth, who often tend to be much more associated with them than in MCing or raping. In Prophets of the Hood, Imani Perry, a teacher of African-American studies at Princeton University, details the three key influences on Hip-Hop music, with each being mainly drawn from Jamaican tradition. This way of thinking of continuously working to produce the next best thing using whatever, frequently restricted, sources available has come to be intrinsic in black society. They did so by subjecting their subjects to either rap or preferred mainstream songs and afterwards gave them with a survey that analyzed just how they explicitly and unconditionally saw Black males.
